Greetings from the Oranizers

For the EuroGames IV we would like to welcome to Berlin all participants, guests and others who are interested. We wish you all extraordinary days characterised by fairness, openness, athletic fun and meeting other people.

This cultural and sporting festival will bring more lesbian and gay athletes from Europe together than ever before. EuroGames IV is thus at the same time a demonstration for a Europe that is coming together, in which each group of the population must have equal freedoms and rights.

The European Gay and Lesbian Sport Federation (EGLSF) handed the Games last year over to Vorspiel Schwuler Sportverein e.V., which organised the event in co-operation with the lesbian/women's sport club Seitenwechsel e.V., the Berlin swim club Regenbogenforellen e.V., the gay table tennis club PinkPong e.V., the gay karate club Gaysha e.V. and other athletic groups. This unprecedented but very successful co-operative effort among lesbian and gay athletic clubs sets new signals for Berlin.

We would also like to thank all of the countless helpers, the broad support of the Berlin district offices for the use of the athletic facilities, our sponsors, those who gave donations and who otherwise co-operated as our partners. Special thanks is due to our friends in Frankfurt/Main, who successfully put on the EuroGames last year and helped us generously with the organisation of these Games.

EuroGames IV is a sport festival for everyone of a very special kind. It is just a framework to give you the feeling of community, international connection, solidarity, and fun with sporting activities. We hope your stay in Berlin is full of excitement and success!
